Sean—I’m so sorry the church has been such a rocky journey for you. I sure do miss your passionate sermons and faithful leadership when you were at All Saints. I hope you find peace and happiness in your newly emerging future.

Sean - I heard that same interview on “Fresh Air.” As I’ve shared w you many times, you, Sean Mullen, have shed so much light in your ministry over the decades and in the midst of these past two years your insights on the intersection of life and spirituality continue to shed light. Always praying for the very best for you.

Dear Sean,

Thank you for this and all of your writings. And your homilies through the years at noon mass in the Lady Chapel. I miss you (!) very much.

Keep going dear Brother. Your Light refuses to be put out by those who may never appreciate it. Keep shining bright, it has inspired many whom you may never know, which is probably what our Lord has intended. Grace & Peace

Powerful reframing using del Toro's insight. That shift from "the sun doesn't care" to realizing pain itself has become indifferent to healing is profound. I've carried similar heaviness after a job loss last year and that distinction really clarfies something, almost like recognizing that closing off from beauty is its own active choice rather than just a passive reactoin to circumstances.
